L’Oréal uses Omi to produce product visuals on demand, helping teams scale content globally while maintaining brand consistency.

The Challenge

Like many global brands, L’Oréal was grappling with the operational limits of traditional content production, face rising demands for product visuals - fast, high-volume, localized, and cost-effective. The pace of production had to match the scale of the business.

Legacy workflows were too slow and rigid to support the volume and variety of visuals required.

L’Oréal faced mounting operational pressure:

  • In-house eCommerce shoots were hard to book and produced limited output

  • Social media content needs continued to grow

  • Campaign assets weren’t easily adaptable across geographies

  • Internal teams needed visuals for leadership decks and product launches

  • Email marketing required a steady stream of fresh content

  • Global content costs were rising, while local markets demanded independence

Each brand in L’Oréal’s portfolio had unique creative needs, which made it even harder to scale content consistently across the business.

"We have iconic brands at L'Oréal, and they're all different, each with very different creative environments. What matters to us is being able to bring all these creative worlds online and ensure the quality always meets expectations."

- Thomas Alves Machado, GenAI Content Global Director

The Solution

L’Oréal adopted Omi Studio to replace slow, specialist-driven workflows to an on-demand production engine for every member of the creative team. The shift gave them a faster, more flexible way to produce visuals - with zero compromise on brand quality.

Using Omi’s Digital Twin technology, L’Oréal was able to create pixel-perfect 3D models of each product, capturing every detail from packaging texture to label finishes.

“What’s interesting for us about Omi is the digitalization technique for our product packs and the high-quality rendering. It’s very important because it’s what allowed us to easily integrate it into our team workflows.”

From there, the process was simple and fast. Teams could:

  • Work directly in-browser, no software or studio required

  • Drag and drop products and 3D assets into branded scenes

  • Adjust lighting and angles with precision

  • Export both images and videos, from the same setup

  • Apply brand-approved presets for visual consistency

“No logistics, no studio, no ordering props, no equipment.”

Solving AI’s Product Accuracy Problem

While Generative AI tools like Adobe Firefly offered powerful background generation, they couldn’t accurately reproduce real products. That made them unusable for product visuals on their own.

L’Oréal solved this by combining Adobe Firefly with Omi:

  • Firefly was used to generate branded environments and backgrounds

  • Omi’s Digital Twins were then composited into those scenes

  • Teams could create limitless, brand-aligned variations without compromising product integrity

“Today, with Omi, we're able to use Digital Twins, perfect 3D renderings of our products, without any Gen AI reproduction errors. And what's valuable for us is the ability to combine them with backgrounds and all the environments we can create using Gen AI for our brands.”

The Results

With Omi in place, teams could finally work at the pace the business demanded. Omi gave L’Oréal the flexibility and speed to meet the content demands of a global brand while empowering teams across regions to produce content independently:

  • Content production scaled to meet high-volume demand

  • Photorealistic renders delivered in just 2 days

  • Designers and creatives without 3D skills can now create visuals

  • Local teams became fully autonomous in content adaptation

“In just two days, we can produce high-quality renders that enable local teams to be fully autonomous in adapting the content. This allows us to streamline the production.”

A New Creative Model

Regional Autonomy: Teams in every market can now adapt and launch content on their own timelines - no more waiting on central approvals.

Creative Democratization: Designers and marketers without 3D experience are now able to produce high-quality visuals, directly inside the platform.

“We save time but also simplify how many people are involved in the process. We can now work with people who are not 3D experts but designers and creatives. So it really allows us to democratize large-scale content production.”

Full Creative Control: Omi’s platform allows for total consistency across every visual - from positioning and lighting to brand environments.

“A key strength of Omi is that it allows us to control product positioning, to easily apply all our creative environments across all product lines and supply content to all our touchpoints.”

No Compromise on Quality: Photorealistic results delivered the visual quality L’Oréal expected - without the delays and cost of traditional photography.

“Above all, Omi delivers high-quality results, just like a real photo. It enables us to create much more visually appealing content online for our audiences.”

What’s Next

L’Oréal’s rollout of Omi is expanding globally - enabling new teams, new zones, and new business units to work faster, more independently, and with complete creative precision.

“I see a great collaboration ahead with Omi. We're now going to work with other core businesses within L'Oréal, with new zones and countries, as we continue to move forward and accelerate transformation.”
